USES: Aromatic ammonia is used to prevent and/or treat fainting.
HOW TO USE: Hold the inhalant away from the face and squeeze it hard (crush) between your fingers; this will activate the dose package. Place the inhalant 4 inches from the nostrils until the patient awakens or no longer feels faint; or use as directed by your doctor. Avoid contact of this medicine with eyes and skin. If eye contact occurs, flush the eye(s) with a gentle stream of water for 20 minutes and call your doctor. If skin contact occurs, flush the affected skin with water. Do not rub or apply ointment to the skin. Call your doctor if skin irritation persists.
SIDE EFFECTS: Cough, vomiting, diarrhea, and headache may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor promptly. Tell your doctor immediately if any of these unlikely but serious side effects occur: trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor your medical history, especially of: lung disease, eye problems, any allergies. This medication should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. It is not known whether this drug passes into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor of all prescription and nonprescription medication you may use. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
OVERDOSE: Overdose with this product is highly unlikely. If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
NOTES: Do not share this medication with others.
MISSED DOSE: Not applicable.
STORAGE: Store at room temperature not exceeding 86 degrees F (30 degrees C) away from light and moisture.
